Top IB results in warminster
International Baccalaureate Diploma pupils at Warminster School have good reason to celebrate today following the publication of another set of excellent public examination results. The 2011 cohort matched last year’s school record of 33 points per Diploma graduate, a score which is comfortably above the global average.
Both Joyce Chen and Bernardo Wappler scored a staggering 43 points out of a maximum of 45. For each of them, this translates into 676 UCAS points (equivalent to 4A*s and an A at A Level!). Daniel Greening from Trowbridge scored 41 points, which equates to 2 A*s and 3 A Grades at A Level. Jakob Winkler’s 40 points earn him more UCAS points than one receives for five straight As at A Level.
The school started running the IB Diploma in September 2006, but this is the first time the school has had four students achieve forty points plus range. A score of forty points or above places students in the top 1.8% of the world; 43 points earn Diploma graduates a place in the top 0.74%.
All of the above were understandably delighted with the news. Joyce will take up her place to read Architecture at King’s College, University of London, whilst Daniel can look forward to starting a Physics degree at the prestigious Imperial College. Bernardo and Jacob will return to Germany to embark on a highly sought after internship with HSBC and a leading university place to read Economics respectively.
